Security grab bars are designed to prevent suicides and therefore are recommended for prisons and psychiatric facilities. The grab bars are theft-resistant and cannot be removed from the wall easily and then used as a weapon. The tubing is welded at a 7° angled slope so that any material thrown around the bar will tend to slide off. Type 304 stainless steel satin finish 16 gauge tubing
is available in 1-1⁄4" or 1-1⁄2". 16 gauge sheet extends from underside of grab bar to the wall, welded on three sides.
